Longines Watches Review Feb 2021

Hundreds of fashionable accessory trends will come and go, but donning an exquisite wristwatch will never go out of style!
I firmly believe that watches are a statement of your style and personality, and the aficionado in me is very picky while choosing models that compliment my taste. Quite frankly, nothing beats a classic analog Quartz watch when it comes to traditional fashion trends.
Keeping that aside, I believe that watches are great conversation starters and also make fabulous gifts. However, it becomes a little difficult to choose a stylish watch that scores high on reliability and appearance simultaneously. Even more so, considering how many brands have been launching new products on a daily basis.
I’ve recently come across this brand called Longines, which has gradually become one of my personal favorites. For those who are planning to buy a new watch under a reasonable price, here are two of my top picks that you, too, should try at least once.

Longines Review Feb 2021: About The Brand
Famous Swiss watch brand Longines co. has a rich brand history of manufacturing classic watches by combining high-end performance and elegance. It has been recently making waves with its Hydroconquest Quartz series, which offers ideal value for money.
Longines Hydroconquest Review Feb 2021
Nothing defines “best value” more precisely than the Hydroconquest quartz range by Longines. Although this product has been reigning the market for a good 10 years now, it still outperforms numerous latest models in terms of outlook and durability. But does it serve your needs? Let’s find out in detail!
Why Buy This Product?
Not your average timepiece, this product flaunts a durable 41 mm diameter stainless steel case, which caught my attention at first glance. I’m a sucker for long diving watches, which is why I’ve become an instant fan of the unique Hydroconquest’s design. The double security folding bracelet design, accompanied with a rotary aluminum bezel and a sapphire crystal glass lens, makes it an absolute eye-candy.
Furthermore, I’m in love with its large-sized Arabic numerals and silvery hour markers, which set a classic tone in contrast with the traditional ebony dial background. Appearance-wise, this watch goes with any dress or attire, whether it’s a formal event or a casual occasion.
Moving on, I’ve also noticed a screw-down crown, which enhances overall product durability to a great extent. In brief, this feature enables the watch to increase its resistance to water, which speaks volumes about its longevity. As a bonus, you also get a screw-down case back for 300 m water resistance, which all together guarantees optimal value for money.
Moreover, this product supports an automatic self-winding movement, which I found to resemble the ETA caliber 2824 workhorse movement. If you ask me, this model somehow stands out as worthy competition to the iconic Rolex Submariner at a fraction of its cost.
What Could’ve Been Better?
Speaking of performance, this product doesn’t leave any room for complaints; instead it’s rated very high in terms of durability, appearance, and reliability. However, most of the buyers have complained that the customer services provided by Longines regarding the Hydroconquest product range are sub-par, which is a little disappointing.
Pros:
- Attractive look
- Crystal finish
- 300m water resistance
- Stainless steel construction
Cons:
- None, as of now
Longines Master Collection Review Feb 2021
For those who are fans of subtlety, the Master Collection by Longines is guaranteed to be your cup of tea. Personally, I’m a big fan of Moon phase dials, hence I was initially fascinated with the Longines Master Collection watch. However, this product offers a lot more at an affordable price. Let’s check out its core features!
Why Buy This Product?
Honestly, I’m not the type to be quickly impressed by watches, but the Master collection carries an irresistible charm. For starters, this might be one of the most visually appealing watches I’ve come across in a while, and the credits go to its unique moon phase dial design. This watch has an elegant retro look and feel, which complements my taste pretty well.
Moreover, the product features a stylish alligator strap, which adds a royal finish to its overall outlook. Not to forget, you also get a well-polished classic round case and an exquisite silver dial, featuring a barleycorn pattern.
Here’s the fun part – it combines both the Moon phase and chronograph design, so be assured that it’s an absolute steal for the watch collectors. It also supports a caliber L678 movement, which is based on the timeless ETA Valjoux 7751 movement.
This watch is for the easy wearers, and its 40 mm diameter round case makes it more comfortable on your wrist. Although it’s not a modern sporty watch, it still manages to merge a contemporary and vintage feel. It’s pretty incredible how this watch offers a throbbing 48 hours of power reserve, which raises the bar higher for user convenience.
What Could’ve Been Better?
Although this product ranks very high in terms of appearance, I’m not very sure of how durable it can be in the long term. First and foremost, I haven’t noticed sufficient durability features that could enhance its product life to a great extent. Also, the seal doesn’t appear to be very efficient at blocking dirt and dust, which can disrupt the watch’s mechanism.
Pros:
- Moon phase dial
- Brown alligator strap
- Easy to wear
- 40mm diameter
Cons:
- Durability issues

Verdict
Watches will never go out of fashion, and one of its prime examples is how people are still a fan of retro Moon phase dials. Speaking of which, I hope that you’ve enjoyed going through my unbiased review of the Longines watches. If you’re someone who loves vintage fashion, the Longines Master collection should be your pick.
However, if you’re looking for complete value for money experience, then the eye-candy Hydroconquest model is your cup of tea.
